3. What do the kids get out of class?

  • Kids get the opportunity to interact with other like-minded kids.
  • An open, playful and loving environment for them to be themselves.
  • Exploration of their own unique learning styles whether they are Auditory, Visual or Kinesthetic Learners.
  • The tools to learn how to relax, be calm and have an overall sense of well-being.
  • Practicing yoga and relaxation helps the kids develop beneficial skills such as concentration, patience, gentleness, strength, creativity and stability – building blocks that create the foundation for a happy, healthy life.

4. What differences I have seen it make in the children?

  • After a 6 week session, I decided the 6th class would be a Show & Tell Theme.  The kids would get the opportunity to share with the group what they had learned over the past few weeks.  I wrote a few key terms on the board such as breath work, songs, warm ups, yoga poses etc.  The kids filled up the board with many ideas, all on their own!  We were then able to practice our class based the concepts they had come up with.  It was lovely to see how much they absorbed in only a few weeks.
  • Yoga resonates with kids.  They love the practice and how they feel afterwards, this was especially noticeable after their relaxation/visualization practice.  They felt the effects relaxation had on their mind and body.
"The kids loved it tonight and can't wait to come next week.
I hope the classes will be continuing."
