Throughout my life I have always been aware of the heightened sense of vitality and joy that I feel when moving to music, whether in studios, dance halls, in my living room, or in my backyard.
My discovery of Nia in 2000 deepened that awareness and taught me the incredible science behind movement for wellness.
In 2003, I became a licensed Nia Teacher. Since then, I have delivered Nia classes and playshops aiming to inspire people to listen to their bodies and engage in purposeful, playful, and expressive movement to get fit, self-heal, and personally transform.
I invite you to discover the depths of Nia and to celebrate the Joy of Movement as a fitness and lifestyle practice. If you can move, you can dance!

Through the practice of Yoga, Gena learned to be more present, grounded, positive and connected with herself, with a strong desire to help her younger sister manage her stress while facing health issues.
In 2011 Gena realized that she needed to incorporate Yoga in her every day with the intention of personal growth, for a healthy life, and everyday happiness. She decided to register in Welkin Yoga Life’s Teacher Training and Self Realization Program from which she graduated in 2012.
She enjoys teaching the Gentle Yoga class and helping her students to unwind and relax, practicing various classical yoga poses in a gentle way, allowing them to feel comfortable and to build on their strength and flexibility and also encouraging them to be self reliant on and off their yoga mat.
Gena also brings the calm atmosphere of yoga into her aesthetics practice and with her gentle touch allows her clients to relax their bodies and clear their minds.
She also likes spending time in the kitchen cooking nutritious and healthy meals, taking long walks in nature, taking ballroom dance lessons and spending time with her family, friends and their two cats Mimi and Tia and the “adopted” neighborhood cat Goguta.
